adult social care. It replaces the original Care Certificate and sets a clear national standard for the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to work safely and effectively in care roles.

Department of Health and Social Care, this qualification helps ensure consistent, high-quality care across the sector.
Equivalences
The Level 2 Adult Social Care Certificate sits on the
Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and is considered a
Level 2 qualification in England, Wales, and Northern Ireland.:
A Level 2 qualification is broadly equivalent to:
- GCSEs at grades 4–9 (A–C
- BTEC First Diploma / Level 2 BTEC
- OCR Level 2 Nationals

Duration
The learners can choose the course duration from two options.
